Assalamu Alaikum All.
It is with great pleasure we anounce the opening of The Noor Community Clinic (NCC)
on Wednesday,Jan 20, 2010, at the Rardin Family Practice Center between 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
This clinic has taken about 18 months in the making, with frequent meetings almost every friday after jummah prayers at Noor Islamic Cultural Center and months of negotiations with the Ohio State University Administration and Legal Department. We have emerged successful, masha Allah.! Our objective is to serve the uninsured and underserved in these economically challenging times

The NICC is working hard towards distributing its first ever publication about Islam. Currently the pamphlets are in production and a team of designers and editors are diligently working so that these brochures may be distributed as soon as possible.

About ISLAM
What is Islam?
The word "Islam" is an Arabic word that means "submitting and surrendering your will to Almighty God". The word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means peace. Unlike the names used for other religions, such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity, the name for the religion of Islam was both revealed by God and carries a deep spritual meaning — only by submitting one’s will to Almighty God can one obtain true peace both in this life and in thelife hereafter. Islam teaches that all religions originally had the same essential message — which was to submit whole-heartedly to the will of God and to worship Him and Him alone. His sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul-Hijjah (Islamic Calendar) i.e. 10 A.H. on Mount of Rahmat in the plains of 'Arafat in Mecca, during the Hajj pilgrimage.
After praising and thanking Allah the Prophet (saws) said: "O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah

Abu'l Waleed Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Rushd, known as Averroes in the West, was born in 1128 C.E. in Cordova, where his father and grandfather had both been judges. His grandfather was well versed in Fiqh (Maliki School) and was also the Imam of the Jamia Mosque of Cordova. The young Ibn Rushd received his education in Cordova and lived a quiet life, devoting most of his time to learned-pursuits.
